Board of Selectmen - Special Meeting

The eligible Board of Selectmen members will be meeting on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the Sharon Meeting House from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm, before the regular meeting to supervise the review of building and driveway permits records at the request of a member of the public.

Voter Registration Requirements

Applicants for voter registration who possess proof of identity, age, citizenship, and domicle should bring that proof when they come to register.  Qualified applicants who do not possess proof or who do not bring proof with them may register if they sign an affidavit attestig to their qualifications for identity, age, and citizenship.

More than 30 days before an election, applicants without proof of domicile will be asked to retrieve proof and return to register.  Within 30 days of an election and on election day, applicants without proof of domicile with them may register to vote if they sign an affidavit attesting to their domicile and either agreeing to bring or send in proof or attesting that they are not aware of possessing proof of domicile.

TOWN MEETING MARCH 13, 2018

The annual elections of Town Officers will be Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 11 am to 7 pm.

Town meeting will begin onTuesday, March 13, 2018 at 8 pm.

Absentee ballots are available from the Town Clerk.  The Town Clerk will be available on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 3 pm to 5 pm to accept absentee ballots.

TOWN OF SHARON, NEW HAMPSHIRE

TOWN WARRANT



To the inhabitants of the Town of Sharon, New Hampshire, in the County of Hillsborough, qualified to
vote in Town affairs:


You are hereby notified to meet in the Sharon Meeting House in said Town on Tuesday,
March 13, 2018 at 11:00 in the forenoon to act on Articles 1 and 2. The polls will be closed at 7:00 P.M.
The business portion of the meeting to act on Articles 3-11 will start at 8:00 P.M. on the same date at
the Sharon Meeting House.


ARTICLE 1.  To choose all necessary Town Officers for the year ensuing.


ARTICLE 2.   To act on the proposed amendments to Articles IV: Provisions Applicable to All Districts
and XXV: Accessory Dwelling Units of the Sharon Zoning and Building Ordinance.


ARTICLE 3.  To see if the Town will vote to set the following amounts which shall be paid to the
Town Officers for their services, or take any action relative thereto:

Selectmen $1,800 each per year
Town Administrator $20,000 per year
Town Clerk $5,500 per year
Deputy Town Clerk $300 per year plus $50 per scheduled session
Collector of Taxes $2,800 per year plus fees
Deputy Collector of Taxes $600 per year
Road Agent $12,000 plus Fuel Allowance
Board of Auditors $500 each per year
Treasurer $2,000 per year
Trustees of Trust Funds $100 each per year
Moderator $100 per year plus $125 per scheduled session
Deputy Moderator $125 per session

Code Enforcement Officer $30 per hour

ARTICLE 5.  To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $6,800 for the purchase
of a new software package and training for the Town Clerk’s office. The selectmen recommend this
article.


ARTICLE 6.  To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $10,000 to be placed in
the Town Bridge Fund, Account 4915.3 previously established, or take any action relative thereto.  
This article is designated as a special warrant article under the provisions of RSA 32:3,VI(c).

ARTICLE 7.  To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $7,500 to be placed in the
Audit Fund, Account 4914.2 previously established by vote of the March 8, 2016 Town Meeting, or
take any action relative thereto.  This article is designated as a special warrant article under the
provisions of RSA 32:3,VI(c). The selectmen recommend this article.

ARTICLE 8.  To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $1,000 to be placed in the
Welfare Services Non-Capital Reserve Fund, Account 4914.1 previously established by vote of the
March 8, 2016 Town Meeting, or take any action relative thereto.  This article is designated as a
special warrant article under the provisions of RSA 32:3,VI(c). The selectmen recommend this article.


ARTICLE 9.  To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $35,000 to be placed in
the Town Highway Repairs Fund, Account 4915.3 previously established, or take any action relative
thereto. This article is designated as a special warrant article under the provisions of RSA 32:3,VI(c).  
The selectmen recommend this article.


ARTICLE 10.  To see if the Town will vote to discontinue the entire length of Swamp Road as an open
highway subject to gates and bars pursuant to RSA 231:45.


ARTICLE 11.   To transact any other business which legally shall come before this meeting.
