Sharon Planning Board - Special Meeting

Any changes proposed by the Board would be further discussed at a publicly noticed meeting held prior to Town Meeting in March 2014.

Update from Planning Board

The Sharon Planning Board has recently become aware that a portion of the Highland Conservation District ordinance adopted in March 2012 is in conflict with the NH RSAs.

Specifically, Article XXIII, Section F of the Highland Conservation District ordinance deals with "Timber Harvesting."  However, RSA 674:1, VI states that the Planning Board cannot regulate timber harvesting that is “....not part of a subdivision application or a development project subject to site plan review under this chapter.”

Changes to the zoning ordinances can only be made by the voters at Town Meeting in March.  However, at their public meeting last night the Planning Board approved a motion stating that it will not implement or enforce Section F of the Highland Conservation District ordinance until it can be amended.

An Intent to Cut has been approved by the Selectmen and a road bond has been established for this logging operation.
